The City of Lansing; Priority Health, a nationally recognized nonprofit health plan; and National Fitness Campaign (NFC) are pleased to announce the opening of an outdoor Priority Health Fitness Court® at Benjamin F. Davis Park, the third Fitness Court® to be installed in Lansing. Fitness Courts are also located at Debbie Stabenow and Maguire parks.
This Fitness Court® was developed by the City of Lansing, Priority Health and NFC to expand free access to high-quality workouts and create equitable access to exercise for communities across the region. The Fitness Court® is an outdoor gym that lets users leverage their own body weight to get a complete workout using seven exercise stations.
Created for adults of all abilities age 14+, the Fitness Court® workouts are adaptable for all fitness levels, allowing participants to move at their own pace. Users also may download the free Fitness Court® App which acts as a coach-in-your-pocket and enhances the outdoor gym into a digitally supported wellness experience.
The City of Lansing is one of 25 Campaign Partners building a network of Fitness Courts across the state, with the help of Priority Health.
There are now 26 Priority Health Fitness Courts in Michigan, bringing free access to exercise and overall health and wellness to neighbors across the state. Last year alone, more than 205,000 Michiganders used the courts, burning more than 51 million calories.
