JUNE 24, 2026 – (CHARLESTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA) — Today, Charlestown Township, Independence Blue Cross (IBX), and National Fitness Campaign (NFC) officially opened a new, state-of-the-art, IBX-sponsored Fitness Court® in Charlestown Township Park
The IBX-sponsored Fitness Court -- the first of its kind in the Chester County region -- will provide users with equitable access to free world-class wellness infrastructure that allows them to leverage their own body weight to get a complete workout. Created for people of all abilities aged 14+, the Fitness Court workouts are adaptable for all fitness levels, allowing participants to move at their own pace.
A ribbon-cutting event brought together local leaders and sponsors to celebrate a joint commitment between Charlestown Township, IBX, and NFC to expand community access to high-quality workouts and equipment. In conjunction with the Great Valley Community Organization, staff from ENGAGE Personal Training in Malvern, PA demonstrated the seven exercise stations and showed various options for users of all fitness levels.
“We are pleased that Independence Blue Cross and National Fitness Campaign partnered to offer this wonderful opportunity to communities across the region, and that Charlestown Township was chosen to be a recipient, allowing this project to come to fruition. We are grateful for the opportunity to enjoy free outdoor fitness for years to come,” said Kevin Kuhn, Board of Supervisors Chair, Charlestown Township.

The Fitness Court lets users of the space get a complete workout using seven exercise stations. Users can also download the free Fitness Court® App which acts as a “coach-in-your-pocket” and enhances the outdoor gym into a digitally supported wellness experience.
