How Valarie Moon fills her cup to help others at the Elko, NV Fitness Court®

In the hustle and bustle of a demanding world, prioritizing self-care becomes more than just a lifestyle choice—it's a journey towards spiritual connection and emotional stability. For Valarie Moon, working remotely on a crisis call line, the commitment to staying active isn't merely personal; it's a professional responsibility, a crucial element in mastering oneself to effectively help others.

“Living an active life is important to me, because it helps me feel more spiritually connected. I work remotely on a crisis call line for suicidal & homicidal natives. I know it’s important to make sure I’ve mastered myself & am emotionally stable in order to help others, I really have to take my own wellness & wellbeing seriously!”

Valarie recognizes that taking her own wellness seriously isn't selfish but, in fact, a prerequisite for offering meaningful support to those in need. The path to a fulfilling and purposeful existence lies in the intentional cultivation of a balanced and healthy lifestyle, where self-care becomes a profound act of love and a demonstration of commitment to both personal and professional well-being.

In the face of higher rates of preventable diseases within Valarie’s Shoshone community, she has chosen to be proactive, breaking free from statistics and embracing an active lifestyle. The Fitness Court® emerges as a consistent companion on her wellness journey, offering not just a space for physical activity but a sanctuary for mental clarity.

“Prioritizing my own wellness ensures I am living the lifestyle I deserve. Staying active also helps me feel more connected to my culture. Staying active is self-care, and the most caring thing I do for myself is utilizing the Fitness Court.”

Without a gym membership, the free-to-use Fitness Court® took center stage, providing structure through its invigorating 7-minute workouts. Every morning, a short half-mile walk brings Valarie to the Fitness Court® where she starts with mindfulness and stretching, setting the tone for the day ahead. Valarie then opens the Fitness Court® App to complete the 7-minute circuits and if she’s feeling ‘really beastly’ she’ll repeat the circuit a few times for a killer workout.

In a world filled with stress and challenges, Valarie’s story speaks to the importance of filling up one’s own cup before serving others. The Fitness Court® stands not only as a workout space but as a symbol of empowerment—a tangible reminder of reclaiming control over one's well-being.
