In San Jacinto, CA, Darnae Wynn is proving how one ambassador can transform an entire community. A trainer, mom, and dedicated volunteer, Darnae has turned the Fitness Court® at Mistletoe Park into a true hub of wellness—leading free workouts, six-week challenges, and inspiring families to get healthy together.

In the City of San Jacinto, California, one woman is redefining what it means to be a community leader. A fitness trainer, ambassador, behavior technician, and devoted mom of two, Darnae Wynn has turned her passion for health and wellness into a ministry for her community. Through her work on the Fitness Court at Mistletoe Park, Darnae is transforming lives, one challenge and one workout at a time.

Her journey into the spotlight began with a simple conversation with a city council member, where she shared her vision for a healthier San Jacinto. That pivotal moment led her to play a key role in championing the Fitness Court in her city. In June 2022, she proudly stood as an ambassador at the launch ceremony, a celebration that marked the start of something much bigger for San Jacinto.

“Fitness transforms you not only physically but mentally as well,” she shares. As a certified personal trainer and CrossFit enthusiast, Darnae blends her professional skills with deep empathy. By day, she works as a behavior technician supporting individuals on the autism spectrum. By night, she leads free community workouts, motivated not by pay but by the belief that “sometimes people want help, but they don’t know how to ask.”

Her programming has become a cornerstone of community health in San Jacinto. Each season, she leads six-week challenges supported by the City of San Jacinto, Community Development Manager Renne Yarnall, and Cynthia Espinoza. Local business owner Stephanie from NutriShop partners by offering free body scans at the start and finish, rewarding the most improved participant with giveaways. The City promotes each challenge with flyers, while even cleaning the Fitness Court before classes begin—a testament to the teamwork fueling these activations.

The challenges themselves are full of energy and encouragement: warmups with laps around the park, rounds on the Fitness Court, and plenty of motivation. Husbands have joined to support their wives, wearing custom t-shirts and earning medals. In one memorable milestone, the group even celebrated the “first Fitness Court baby”—a participant who completed the challenge while pregnant, was showered with community support, and later returned with her newborn.

Darnae receives her Ignite San Jacinto award from city officials

Darnae’s impact has been recognized by the city on more than one occasion. Her dedication was first honored with an unexpected award at a city hall meeting in 2023, a testament to her impactful work. “This award reminded me that you don’t know who’s watching you... Always do your best and stay true to the mission,” Wynn reflects. After continued programming and consistent leadership at the Fitness Court, the City of San Jacinto honored her again in May 2025 with the Ignite San Jacinto Award: “The city of San Jacinto thanks you for your volunteer work to create a healthier community. Your commitment to providing free workouts to the community makes you a true community champion.”

Nearly two years ago, a local veteran named Gary joined one of Darnae’s classes and shared in a short video, “I think this is one of the best things that San Jacinto has ever done, and I believe that every city should have at least one if not two of these.” His message still rings true today, as Darnae continues to change lives and strengthen her community through her ongoing Fitness Court programming.

Reflecting on her journey, Darnae offers heartfelt advice for others:

“If you’re an ambassador for a smaller town, not getting that much of a turn out as you’d like: show up anyway. There’s something in you that decided you wanted to do more for your community. Let that something in you drive you to not only be an example for others, but to remind yourself you were created for something more. You’re a force to be reckoned with. Keep going. See your vision through.”

Her philosophy is rooted in love, light, and the belief that health is a shared journey: “This community is small but a lot of love and light, encouraging more people to get more involved with their community, don’t be afraid to do it. You never know who’s watching.”

Through her leadership and unwavering dedication, Darnae Wynn has turned the Fitness Court into a true wellness hub—uniting families, empowering women, and creating a legacy of health for San Jacinto. From baby showers to veteran testimonials, her story is a beautiful reminder of the lasting impact the Campaign has on communities.

Darnae’s story proves that one ambassador can transform an entire community. Her passion and creativity turned the Fitness Court into a space where neighbors support neighbors and wellness thrives.
