KUTZTOWN UNIVERSITY, PA — Energy, excitement, and community spirit were in full motion at the Keith Haring Fitness Court as students from Kutztown Area High School and Kutztown University came together for a unique fitness challenge on May 1st.

A total of 30 students—15 from the high school and 15 from the university—participated in the event, which was structured as a team-based workout competition. Participants rotated through the seven exercise stations on the Fitness Court, each designed to test strength, endurance, and teamwork. The objective was to complete as many repetitions as possible within a set time, with results tallied per team to determine the top performers.

The challenge served as both a spirited competition and a celebration of community engagement, bringing together students of different ages and backgrounds to promote health and wellness in the name of Keith Haring — a Kutztown native and world-renowned artist known for his vibrant work and advocacy for social causes.

New this year was a Keith Haring trivia game for participants to play while they waited for their results. Players received small prizes provided by the Kutztown University Recreation Center based on their completion of the game.

After an impressive display of effort and camaraderie, the top three teams were awarded prizes generously provided by the Kutztown University Recreation Center. From branded fitness gear to exclusive facility passes, the prizes highlighted the University’s commitment to fostering a culture of wellness both on campus and beyond.

Event organizers Ben Angstadt and Kacie Sienko praised the enthusiasm and sportsmanship shown by all participants. They also acknowledged their fellow students’ hard work and dedication to the preparation for this event.

The Keith Haring Fitness Court continues to serve as a hub for physical activity and creative inspiration in Kutztown, and events like these underscore its role as a vital community resource. Kutztown University looks forward to hosting the event for years to come, as the students involved thoroughly enjoy each aspect of the event.
